About Smartability
Smartability is a management consultancy with a focus on strategic sustainability. It was established in 2022 by two friends, Dr Bassem Youness and Dr Arman Farahmand-Razavi. Their combined professional experience is over 70 years in urban planning, transport planning, policy assessment, business strategy and lifelong learning, reskilling and up-skilling. The focus of the practice is to work with public sector clients in their delivery objectives to meet carbon reduction targets through policy reforms, monitoring and evaluation frameworks and using best practice assessment tools available from aroung the globe.
Dr Bassem Younes
Dr Younes has has over 35 years of experience combing transportation engineering and management consulting. He has a track record in setting up and licensing of Higher Education entities and the accreditation of academic programs. He has been involved with public sector change management processes in the UAE and the coordination and liaison with international partners in the formation of strategic alliances. He is currently an Honorary Research Fellow at Imperial College London and a Visiting professor at UCL London.
Dr Arman Farahmand-Razavi
Dr Farahmand-Razavi is a management consultant with over 30 years of international experience in a diverse range of businesses, including transport and planning advisory, education and human capital development, mining, and technology startups. He works on strategic reviews and change management in areas where traditional transport business models are being disrupted.
